Measuring Instructions
Measuring Instructions
Check for Obstructions:
Ensure the distance from the edge of the glass to any obstructions (e.g., window handles) is more than 25mm.
Verify that the rubber beading does not extend more than 6mm into the glass area.
Measure the Frame Depth:
Place a bank card over the corner of the frame.
Use a metal ruler to measure from the glass to the edge of the card. This depth should typically be between 18 and 24mm.
Measure the Visible Glass Area:
Measure from the inside edges of the frame where the glass meets the rubber bead. Do not include the beading or rubber seals.
Measure the width at the top, middle, and bottom of the glass to the nearest mm and record the shortest measurement.
Measure the drop (height) on the left, right, and center of the glass and record the shortest measurement.
Measure Each Window and Door Individually:
Do not assume all windows and doors are the same size. Measure each one separately.
Measure the Window Handle Position:
Open the handle fully and identify the center of the pivot point.
Measure from the edge of the glass to the center of the handle's pivot point:
For handles at the bottom of the window, measure from the left side of the glass.
For handles on the left or right, measure from the bottom of the glass.
Top-Tip: Different handle designs have different pivot positions. Always measure to the center of the pivot point, not to the center of the handle or its mount.
